In the early years, Aprilia produced bicycles and small-displacement motorcycles.

In the 1970s, Aprilia began to focus on racing, and introduced several successful models, including the Scarabeo and the RS125.

In the 1980s and 1990s, Aprilia continued to innovate, introducing new technologies such as the Rotax-powered engine, the AF1 and RS250 racing bikes, and the RSV Mille sportbike.

In 2000, Aprilia entered the MotoGP World Championship with the RS Cube prototype, and later developed the RSV4 superbike, which has been successful in both racing and sales.
