When Jambi Managed to Control Inflation, Jambi Governor Al Haris Said

SERUTVCOM - Governor Al Haris of Jambi expresses his gratitude to the Regional Inflation Control Team and the Regent/Mayor along with the Regional Inflation Control Team in successfully controlling inflation in the province of Jambi.

In his personal Instagram account @alharisjambi, he says that the inflation rate during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr in Jambi is well-controlled, and Jambi is ranked 6th lowest in inflation rate in Indonesia.

He hopes that this success will be a focus in serving the community. The Jambi Central Statistics Agency (BPS) notes that the combined inflation rate of Kota Jambi and Muaro Bungo in April 2023 is well-controlled at 0.15% (mtm) due to the decrease in food prices that were intervened by the Regional Inflation Control Team.

However, there was still an increase in the price of rice in Kota Jambi, which became the driver of inflation by 0.06% (mtm). The increase in air transportation fares was also noted in Kota Jambi by 0.13% (mtm).

The decrease in the price of commodities that were intervened by the Regional Inflation Control Team, such as red chili, bird's eye chili, rice, shallots, and cooking oil, was able to correct the increase in air transportation fares and travel fares between cities in Jambi, which did not drive inflation higher.

The Central Statistics Agency of Jambi believes that the food commodity intervention program carried out by the Regional Inflation Control Team in Jambi is effective and successful.

So far, inflation in April 2023 is still well-controlled. The commodities that helped control inflation in April in Kota Jambi were red chili at -0.18%, broiler chicken meat at -0.07%, fish at 0.05%, bird's eye chili at -0.05%.(nas)
