J K Rowling and The Harry Potter Book

SERUTVCOM - J.K. Rowling is a British author and screenwriter who is best known for creating the Harry Potter franchise.

The Harry Potter book series has become one of the best-selling book series of all time, and it has been adapted into a blockbuster movie franchise, theme parks, and other merchandise.

Rowling has received numerous awards and honors for her contribution to children's literature, including an OBE (Order of the British Empire) and a Legion of Honor award. She has also written other novels and books under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith.

J.K. Rowling started writing Harry Potter in 1990, while she was on a train from Manchester to London. At the time, she was working as a researcher and bilingual secretary for Amnesty International, but she had always wanted to be a writer.

Rowling's mother had died a few years earlier, and Rowling has said that the idea for Harry Potter came to her as a "glimmer" of an idea during a train ride. She began writing the story of Harry Potter as a way to cope with her mother's death and to escape her difficult personal circumstances.

Rowling spent several years developing the world of Harry Potter and writing the manuscript for the first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (published in the US as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone), while she was working as a teacher in Portugal and then living on government assistance in Edinburgh, Scotland.

After several rejections, Rowling's manuscript was accepted by Bloomsbury, a British publishing house, which released the book in 1997. The book became an instant success, winning numerous awards and inspiring a series of sequels that would capture the hearts and imaginations of millions of readers around the world.(nas/other sources)
